Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones will have to pay US$4.1 million in compensation to the parents of a Sandy Hook victim for his false claims denying the killings.
The parents of Jesse Lewis, one of the young victims, claimed at least 150 million for defamation and intentionally inflicted emotional distress, in a Texas court.
On Wednesday, Alex Jones admitted it was irresponsible of him to call the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, which left 26 people dead, including 20 children and six adults, a hoax.
The host of InfoWars, a well-known far-right conspirator, assured before judge and jury that the attack had indeed taken place, contrary to what he had previously said.
More details to come.
