The health authorities of the Northwest Territories (NWT) announce, in turn, the distribution of the vaccine against COVID-19 to children aged 6 months to 5 years.
Moderna’s Spikevax vaccine will be offered starting Monday, July 25, by appointment, at all health centers in the territory, the statement said.
In Yellowknife, the vaccination clinic will welcome families on Wednesday and Friday.
Complete vaccination of young children will consist of two doses of the vaccine given eight weeks apart.
The authorities also point out that the concentration of the vaccine is lower than that offered to other age groups.
On July 15, the governments of Nunavut and Yukon announced their intention to begin vaccinating children under the age of 5 against COVID-19, just after Health Canada approved the vaccine for this age group.
