Since Monday morning, Quebecers aged 60 and over can receive a booster dose.

Some vaccination centers, particularly those at the Palais des congrès and the Montreal Olympic Stadium, also offer a walk-in service. This means that eligible people, including those 60 and over, can already apply.
During the last assessment released by public health authorities, 28% of people aged 60 and over had already received a third dose.
Other groups were already eligible for a booster injection, including users ofCHSLD and private residences for seniors, healthcare workers and first responders, some people with weakened immune systems, and people 65 years of age and over.

This booster dose
is recommended in order to allow the immune system to restore a sufficient level of antibodies to compensate for the drop that may occur after a few months, can we read on the government’s website.
This dose would also increase protection against new variants, such as the Omicron variant.
