Faced with the increase in attacks and threats, the President of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand will meet on Tuesday evening the French Ministers of the Interior and of Justice, Gérald Darmanin and Éric Dupond-Moretti, to take stock of the number of cases identified, on the investigations carried out and on the judicial response which has, if necessary, been provided.

Mr. Ferrand had announced the organization of such a meeting during the truce of the confectioners after the fire of the personal garage of another deputy of the presidential majority, Pascal Bois, which had aroused strong emotion in the political class, on background of clear upsurge in violence against deputies mainly because of their support for the government’s health policy.

Mr. Darmanin had announced in the wake of strengthening the protection of homes and offices of deputies.
