Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Irpin, Ukraine on Sunday to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The purpose of this surprise visit is to reaffirm our unwavering support for the Ukrainian people
said the prime minister’s office.
In March, Mr. Trudeau traveled to Warsaw, Poland, where he announced the application of sanctions against Russian oligarchs in the wake of punitive measures adopted after the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army.
Justin Trudeau is joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly.
