According to the images revealed, the player will be required to go horseback riding, hang gliding (a bit like Link in Zelda: Breath of the Wild) or scuba diving in captivating landscapes in an open world, larger than that of its predecessor.
Forbidden West is the second game in the Horizon series, whose first title, Zero Dawn, was critically acclaimed when it was released in 2017. This production therefore marks a return for the heroine Aloy, who will continue to rub shoulders with her close friends Erend and Varl. She will also be able to count on new allied characters: Zo, Alva and Kotallo.
The game was originally scheduled for release in late 2021, but was postponed to early 2022, notably due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the Consumer Electronics Show 2022 in early January, Sony, which owns PlayStation, unveiled Horizon Call of the Mountain, the sequel planned for Horizon Forbidden West. This game will be exclusive to its next virtual reality headset currently in the works, the PlayStation VR2.
Fans of the Horizon series will be able to get their hands on Forbidden West, exclusive to PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, starting February 18.
