Samsung unveils its fourth generation of foldable phones


“Best and best of all”, this is how Sylvie – the boss described it in the popular Netflix series Emily in Paris – new products from Samsung, also kicking off the Samsung Unpacked event on Wednesday. The Korean giant unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4, as well as the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and the Galaxy Watch 5.

Samsung promises a better camera in low light, to capture stable night videos. He also touts the convenience of his foldable phone for creating hands-free Stories, and short videos, like Instagram Reels.

Other notable improvements include a larger and more capable battery, with faster cable charging. The screen is 45% stronger than its predecessor and the device is also more powerful, counting on a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, with 8 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Z Flip4, whose screen still measures 6.7 inches, retails from $1,260.

Just like the entry-level model of Samsung’s foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold4 can count on a much more resistant screen, but also lighter (263 g, against 271 g for the 3rd generation).
