The challenge of vaccination against monkeypox

Since the start of the vaccination campaign against monkeypox, 13,000 people have been vaccinated, according to the regional director of public health in Montreal, Mylène Drouin. However, to achieve some immunity in the community most at risk, the goal is to vaccinate 20,000 to 25,000 people.

With Fierté Montréal which will begin shortly and which will lead to an influx of travelers, Mylène Drouin recommends caution, just like for COVID-19. Even if the seventh wave of this one begins to run out of steam, “community transmission remains strong”.

The director also gives some advice for the vaccination of the youngest to protect them against COVID-19.
