The long COVID still poorly understood

Many people still suffer from sequelae months or even years after catching COVID-19. Several specialized clinics have thus opened their doors in Quebec to conduct studies on long-term COVID to understand the symptoms of this condition, know its causes and find treatments. After a year and a half of work on the subject at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute, certain hypotheses have been put forward by specialists.

Journalist Laurence Niosi discussed it with Dr. Emilia Liana Falcone, who runs the post-COVID-19 research clinic in Montreal.

According to Falcone, research suggests that vaccination before catching COVID has a protective effect, and decreases the chances of developing long-lasting COVID.
