To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which takes place on December 3, we invite Dominic Tardif and Kéven Breton to speak out on theinspiration porn, a way of representing people with disabilities as sources of inspiration, exclusively or in part on the basis of their disability. This expression is the creation of Australian comedian Stella Young, who was fed up with being reduced to her only handicap and being told over and over again that she was brave.

The two columnists also denounce the objectification of people with disabilities and explain to us why memes that emphasize their strength and resilience are often clumsy. They strongly encourage listening to Stella Young’s speech:
