Twitter suspends an account that gave answers to the Wordle phenomenon game

This online word game, which offers only one puzzle per day, has conquered millions of people. But the @wordlinator profile seemed determined to spoil the fun of netizens posting their paintings on Twitter.

[Le compte] was suspended for violating Twitter’s rules on automated profiles and for sending unwanted mentions. »

A quote from A Twitter spokesperson

The robot account automatically responded to players who published their board wordle of the day with this type of message: You know what? We don’t care about your mediocre linguistic escapades. For your trouble, tomorrow’s word is: XXXXX.

Twitter has said it does not tolerate its platform tools being used to annoy other users.

Its rules specify in particular that mentions, replies and unsolicited, aggressive and bulk direct messages may lead the social network to suspend or close the accounts concerned.

What is the game wordle?

The game consists of finding a secret word of five letters in six tries, comparable to the principle of the board game Mastermind.

Although offered only on the web (and not in the form of a mobile application), it was adopted very quickly and widely, in particular thanks to the function of sharing the table of its results (which hides the solution of the day) on the social networks.

Versions of the game in other languages, such as Word, in French, have appeared on the web.

It is likely that the individual responsible for the @wordlinator account found the winning words simply by looking at the website’s computer code.
