A study published in the journal Science Advances refutes the idea that women who experienced a change in their menstruation during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign are just a few anecdotal cases.

This online survey of 39,000 people shows that 42% of women who menstruate each month had heavier bleeding in the cycles following their vaccination.

Although no mechanism explains this benign phenomenon, the study validates the concerns experienced by several women in recent months. Renaud Manuguerra-Gagné met with researchers to try to understand the link between immunity and the menstrual cycle.
