Over the years, our muscles and joints lose flexibility and suppleness. However, is it justified? A Japanese study shows that as we age, the body sees its muscle mass decrease and therefore becomes less flexible. Columnist Eugénie Emond explains that the loss of elastin and collagen also stiffens the joints. Added to this is the gradual decline in physical activity, which contributes to making the body more and more rigid.
Eugénie Emond suggests activities to do to maintain our flexibility as we age.
